Brit drummer Mark Heaney has just released his second solo album, Origins, the follow up to the fantastic Drum Room. Mark recorded the whole thing himself using a stripped back set-up. We caught up with Mark to find out more about the concept of the album.
Hello Everyone. I am pleased to announce that my next solo drum album ORIGINS is finished. It was an interesting experience making this album. I didn’t want an over produced slick sounding album as I wanted it to have a very live feel and to keep as much of the dirt as I could hence all the drums were done in one or two takes on one mic with very little editing if at all! All about the emotion and feel. Will be posting more tracks here over the next couple of weeks for you to check out ahead of the release of the full album on iTunes plus reviews and more videos. Here are some visuals to accompany the opening track on the album called PERCEPTION. Enjoy.X
Quite a few years ago I did a studio session with a great guitarist called Daryl Kellie and old friend and Bass player Jerry Soffe. We never released an album due to other work commitments so the project got shelved but we did manage to record about 8 tracks. I found them on my hard drive so I have added these rough mixes to my sound cloud page for you to enjoy. Was a great session with some wonderful results! Will post the rest soon.
Was in the studio today recording some more dirty drums for my new solo drum album. All drums are done so now to finish it off. Will be posting a track from the album in the next week. Full album will be with you soon. Dirty Beats!!!!
